Child Abuse Prevention Policies and Procedures

Camp Wo-Me-To takes our responsibility to care for campers very seriously.  The policies and procedures
that we’ve implemented are designed to prevent sexual abuse, physical abuse and neglect of campers.
Our policies are intended to create a safe environment for campers, protecting campers, you, and the
mission of Camp Wo-Me-To.

In order to meet these goals, every new leader over the age of 18 will be asked to:

1.  Complete our new online registration form that includes:
    – Child Abuse Prevention Safety information,
    – A review of our Child Abuse Prevention Policies and Procedures document
and  adherence to these policies and procedures by way of digital signature.
    – You will also be asked to provide 2 personal references with their names and email addresses.
They will be contacted by email and asked to complete a personal reference on your behalf.

2.  Complete a background check.

3.  Complete the Ministry Safe online Child Abuse Awareness training and pass the quiz with a score of 70 percent or better.

All of these must be completed BEFORE the camp registration deadline.
Once you register for camp, you will receive a separate email with instructions
on how to complete your background check and how to access the online training.

If you are a repeat volunteer and your Ministry Safe training certification is greater than 2 years old, you will be asked to take that training again.  Background checks will be done each year that you volunteer.  If your personal references are greater than 2 years old, you will be asked to provide new personal references too.

Background checks from other organizations will not be accepted.  There are no exceptions.
